All 24 Indian seafarers are safe after two tankers came under attack in recent days in the Strait of Hormuz and Romania, India’s shipping minister said on Friday.
According to a post by Sarbananda Sonowal, India’s federal minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, a crude oil tanker carrying 15 Indian crew members was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz on October 16.
A second incident occurred on October 14, when a chemical tanker at Romania’s Sulina Anchorage was hit by a drone.
“Thankfully, all 24 Indian nationals across both vessels are completely safe, with no casualties or injuries,” Sonowal said in a post on X.
The minister did not provide further details about the extent of the damage to the vessels or the circumstances surrounding the two attacks.
