Iranian National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said on Saturday that Tehran had informed the U.S. government of the seven conditions it has set for beginning any negotiations, stressing that Washington would have to accept them if it wants to enter a negotiating process.
Rezaei said Iran’s message to the United States was clear, arguing that Washington must recognize Iran’s rights and accept its conditions if it wants to resolve the current situation and avoid further escalation.
Rezaei had previously revealed details of Iran’s proposal for ending the war, saying that accepting Tehran’s conditions would serve U.S. interests by helping Washington move toward an end to the conflict. He also argued that U.S. threats would not achieve their intended objectives.
The Iranian official’s remarks come amid continued tensions between Tehran and Washington and growing disagreements over the conditions for negotiations and the path toward ending the war.
