Israel launched a major escalation of air and ground attacks across southern Lebanon early Thursday, with intense strikes focused on the Ali al-Taher Heights in the Nabatieh district, amid heavy air and artillery bombardment and movements by Israeli military vehicles near several border towns.
Heavy Strikes Hit Ali al-Taher Heights
Israeli warplanes carried out a series of raids targeting the Hay al-Deir area of Nabatieh al-Fawqa and the vicinity of Ali al-Taher Heights, using heavy blast missiles. The attacks intensified after midnight, with repeated strikes hitting the heights.
Israeli operations also extended to several towns and areas across southern Lebanon, including Mansouri, Hadatha, Markaba, Beit Lif, Houla, Qantara, Haris, Kfartibnit, and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, accompanied by artillery fire and explosions in some areas.
Israeli Troop Incursion and Military Movements
In parallel developments, an Israeli force reportedly moved into the northern outskirts of Mais al-Jabal, amid artillery shelling and machine-gun fire.
Israeli military vehicles were also seen moving around the outskirts of Houla and the Wadi al-Sulouqi area, while Israeli warplanes conducted intensive flights over several parts of Lebanon, including Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the Chouf region, and Sidon.
Massive Explosion in Kfartibnit
After midnight, the Israeli military carried out a massive explosion in the town of Kfartibnit in the Nabatieh district, while artillery fire targeted Al-Qusayr, Bani Hayyan, and the Wadi al-Hujeir area.
The escalation came during a broad night of Israeli military operations stretching from border villages to areas deeper inside the Nabatieh district, with intensified airstrikes and artillery bombardment across multiple fronts in southern Lebanon.
