Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it would make major changes to its defensive and offensive strategy if Iran comes under another attack, saying it has made military preparations that could alter the nature of any future confrontation.
The IRGC said it has identified new military targets and would take measures aimed at changing the “geography of the war,” while introducing advanced precision weapons that it said would surprise the world.
IRGC Describes US War as “Historic Defeat”
The Revolutionary Guard described the United States’ war against Iran as a “historic and humiliating defeat,” arguing that Washington had failed to achieve its stated objectives.
It cited the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz as one of what it described as the clearest signs of the US failure, despite Washington using its various capabilities and resources during the confrontation. The IRGC also said Israel had contributed to what it characterized as the defeat.
Message to Neighboring Countries
Regarding relations with countries in the region, the IRGC reaffirmed its commitment to the principle of good-neighborly relations, stressing that Iran distinguishes between its adversaries and neighboring states.
It said its recent operations did not target any neighboring country and were instead directed at US military bases. The IRGC also questioned why countries in the region allow their bases to be used by powers located thousands of miles away.
The Revolutionary Guard further emphasized that its responsibilities are limited to military matters and do not extend to diplomatic issues, which are handled by Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
Hezbollah and Yemen
On regional developments, the IRGC said US and Israeli pressure would not eliminate Hezbollah, but would instead contribute to strengthening the group’s defensive capabilities.
It also said Yemen would continue to play a role in shaping the region’s strategic dynamics.
