An explosion occurred at dawn on Tuesday at a gas export pipeline at the Al-Jabsah gas plant in northeastern Syria, the state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company said, according to Syrian state media.
Initial investigations indicate that the blast was caused by a “deliberate act of sabotage,” the company said.
No injuries were reported among workers at the facility, according to the statement.
The incident comes as Syria seeks to restore and strengthen its energy infrastructure following years of conflict and damage to its oil and gas facilities.
