Elon Musk, founder of aerospace company SpaceX, has said he sees a possible path for the company’s valuation to surpass the total value of the global economy, describing the prediction as something that might sound crazy.
In a post on the social media platform X, Musk wrote: “This may sound completely insane, but I see a path for SpaceX to be worth more than the entire current economy of Earth.”
Musk suggested that the gap between the company’s valuation and the size of the global economy could be “enormous,” but he did not disclose details of the path he believes could lead to that outcome.
Global Economy Exceeds $118 Trillion
According to the figures cited in the report, global gross domestic product exceeded $118 trillion in 2025, based on World Bank data.
Musk’s statement reflects an extraordinary ambition for the future value of his company. However, it does not include a timeline or detailed financial projections explaining how SpaceX could reach such a level.
SpaceX Is a Major Component of Musk’s Wealth
SpaceX is one of the most important assets underpinning Musk’s wealth, thanks to its rocket-launch operations, spacecraft development, and satellite internet services through Starlink.
According to the report, the company launched its initial public offering in June in what was described as the largest IPO in history, raising approximately $86 billion. After a strong start in trading, the stock declined over the summer before recently recovering some of its value.
Nevertheless, a single company becoming more valuable than the entire global economy remains a future scenario proposed by Musk, not a financial outcome that has already been achieved.
