The death toll from a missile attack launched by the Houthi militia on Thursday evening targeting the presidential Maashiq Palace in Aden, Yemen’s interim capital, has risen to five dead and 16 injured.
Yemeni Health Minister Qasim Buhaibeh said the victims included security personnel and civilian employees working at the site.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Buhaibeh said the attack brought back memories of the December 2020 bombing at Aden International Airport, which targeted the Yemeni government as its members arrived in the interim capital and left several people dead and injured.
The Houthi militia launched a missile and drone attack on Maashiq Palace on Thursday evening. The Yemeni government described the incident as an attempt to undermine state institutions and disrupt military efforts aimed at ending the Houthi takeover and restoring security and stability.
