Media reports say US Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper has briefed President Donald Trump on potential military options against Iran, as American military activity across the Middle East increases amid concerns over a possible renewed confrontation.
The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported that the briefing was attended by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine. Discussions reportedly focused on available options for responding to developments involving Iran.
US Reinforces Missile Defenses in Israel
According to the report, the US military is working to deploy an additional Patriot missile battery to Israel in a move aimed at strengthening its defenses against potential missile threats.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reports said at least 10 US military cargo aircraft had landed in Israel over the previous 24 hours.
The aircraft reportedly arrived at the Ovda and Nevatim air bases carrying air defense systems from Texas. Additional US military cargo planes were also reported to have reached bases in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
Israel Prepares for Possible Escalation
Israeli media outlets quoted an Israeli official as saying that the country’s security establishment was preparing for the possibility that Trump could decide to resume military operations against Iran.
Reports also indicated that Washington had urged Gulf countries to prepare for a possible renewed escalation, amid continuing regional tensions and increased military deployments.
However, these movements do not in themselves indicate that a final decision has been made to launch a new military operation. No such decision has been officially announced in the reports.
Trump Says Iran Issue Could Be Resolved Soon
The developments follow remarks by Trump during a rally in Ohio, where he said the situation involving Iran would be resolved soon, fueling speculation about Washington’s next steps.
The nature of the military options under consideration, and whether the defensive deployments are connected to preparations for possible new strikes, remain unclear as regional governments monitor the US position and the potential consequences for Middle Eastern security.
