Two Iranian men have been charged with allegedly plotting a terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community in Manchester, UK police said Friday.
Salam Ahmadyan, 36, from Liverpool, and Rahman Salehi, 34, from Salford, both Iranian nationals, were arrested in Manchester on September 20.
According to police, the two men are alleged to have been in contact with a third party overseas who may be located in Iran in connection with the alleged plot.
The charges relate to allegations that the men were preparing to carry out an act of terrorism or assisting another person in connection with terrorism.
The case remains under investigation, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
