Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi delivered Tehran’s negotiating demands and its reservations about US demands to Pakistani officials during his visit to Islamabad, a Pakistani source involved in the talks told Reuters on Saturday.
There has been no direct meeting scheduled so far between Araghchi and US officials, according to Al Arabiya’s correspondent in Islamabad.
Regional diplomacy appears to be expanding, with sources telling Al Arabiya that Pakistan has proposed a plan, overseen by several countries, to monitor Iran’s nuclear program.
Al Arabiya’s correspondent also reported that Iranian officials prefer to negotiate with US Vice President JD Vance.
An Iranian diplomatic source told Al Arabiya that Tehran “will not sit at negotiations where America sets red lines,” adding: “We are ready to negotiate, but we will not surrender.”
The source said Iran has reaffirmed to Pakistan’s leadership its commitment to ending threats.
