U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States is receiving intelligence about the movements and conversations of Iranian officials, asserting that Washington has intelligence capabilities that allow it to monitor developments within Iran.
Speaking at a rally for Republican supporters in Georgia as part of the campaign for the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November 3, Trump said the United States can hear what Iranian officials are saying.
“This is classified information. I have just declassified it, but this is normal,” Trump said.
Trump Highlights US Intelligence Capabilities
Trump’s remarks come amid repeated claims about Washington’s ability to monitor Iranian activities, including military operations, nuclear facilities, drone production sites and the movements of Iranian forces in key waterways.
The U.S. president has linked these intelligence capabilities to what he describes as a decline in Iran’s military strength. However, he did not provide specific details about the nature of the information available to Washington or the scope of its surveillance operations.
Meanwhile, the continuation of the war beyond initial estimates has raised questions about how quickly the United States can achieve the military objectives Trump outlined at the beginning of the conflict. The confrontation has lasted for months, rather than the weeks initially anticipated.
