The Dutch government said Monday that it had summoned Israel’s ambassador in the Netherlands to protest Israel’s decision to revoke the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats accredited to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.
Israel announced the measure on Sunday, saying it was a response to Dutch sanctions targeting Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
The Netherlands had previously expressed regret over Israel’s decision, describing the move as unnecessary and reiterating its concerns over the diplomatic dispute.
